FRCR exam dates, 2026 and 2027.

Dates verified at the RCR: 18 August 2026

Every sitting the RCR has published, in one place: FRCR 2B, Part 1 Physics and Anatomy, and 2A, with the booking windows and results days for each. All dates are taken from the RCR's own exam pages and linked at the bottom, so you can confirm any of them at the source in seconds.

Two things candidates most often miss: bookings close two to three months before exam day, and seats at popular venues go quickly once booking opens. Put the booking-open date in your calendar, not just the exam date.

FRCR 2B exam dates

The 2B runs four times a year. Each sitting has a reporting day (rapid reporting and long cases) followed by oral exams the next week.

There is no March 2027 sitting. The RCR's 2027 calendar runs January, April, June and October: the spring sitting moved from its usual March slot to 9 April 2027. If your revision plan assumed March, it just gained five weeks.

FRCR Part 1 exam dates: Physics and Anatomy

The First FRCR runs three times a year, with Physics and Anatomy sat on consecutive days of the same sitting.

FRCR 2A exam dates

The 2A runs twice a year as two papers on consecutive days.

When do FRCR results come out?

Every published results day is in the tables above, and the pattern is steady across the calendar:

  • FRCR 2B: about five weeks after the reporting day. For the October 2026 sitting, results are published on 5 November 2026.
  • Part 1 Physics and Anatomy: three weeks after the exam. For the September 2026 sitting, results are published on 1 October 2026.
  • FRCR 2A: just over three weeks after the papers. For the November 2026 sitting, results are published on 26 November 2026.

Results days are the RCR's to set and occasionally move; the dates above are the RCR's published ones, and the sources at the bottom of this page are where any change would appear first.

Booking windows worth flagging now

As of 18 August 2026, the deadlines closest to you are:

  • 2A November 2026: bookings close 4 September 2026. If you plan to sit in November, this is the one to act on first.
  • 2B January 2027: bookings open 8 September 2026 and close 30 October 2026.
  • Part 1 March 2027: bookings open 6 October 2026 and close 8 January 2027.

The RCR publishes its calendar on a rolling basis and dates can change, so always confirm on the RCR pages linked below before booking travel or leave.
